Whilst the two venues at which we play have defibrillators on the premises, we felt it was important to have a portable device in our kitbag pitchside on all occasions.
To this end, we applied to the Kent FA for a grant to purchase a fully automatic defibrillator and they kindly funded 75% of the cost.
A request to members to volunteer to learn to use the defibrillator saw 10 attend a training session run by St. John Ambulance on January 16.
Naturally, we hope that there will never be the need to use it, but our players can now be assured the equipment is just seconds away, should it be required.
